This Sunday evening we continue our series in 1 Samuel looking at the story of David. King Saul’s struggles continue as the Spirit of the Lord has departed from him. Saul looks for help, and he finds it in the gifts and presence of David. As David plays in the king’s presence, Saul is refreshed with new life. What David is able to bring to Saul is a foreshadowing of the even greater refreshment of life that Jesus will bring. Jesus gifts us with God’s Spirit, driving the darkness from us, so that we can now be a source of refreshment for one another too.
