As we continue our summer clothing series, we reflect on this passage from the end of Romans where we are encouraged to be clothed with our Lord Jesus Christ as we live our lives from day to day. To live this way is to keep God’s law, and is also to live ready for the return of our Lord. The imagery of light and darkness used in these verses is a helpful one as we think of the way we live. Would we be comfortable with our actions and motivations being brought into the light, or would we rather they stayed in the darkness? This question can help us see more clearly if we are living clothed in the armor of light.
