This Sunday morning we continue to reflect on the image of clothing or being clothed that we find throughout Scripture, turning now to Exodus 28, where God commands how the priests are to dress. The Lord has a very specific purpose for how the priests are to dress based on the work they are doing and what this work means. This is a reminder that we can’t presume to come before the Lord on our own terms, but can only do so through his. God’s provision for his people through the priesthood in the Old Testament points to the full clothing of his people he will do in Christ. We believe in the priesthood of all believers, because in Christ, we are clothed in righteousness, and able to serve before the Lord.
