As we come to chapter 5 of James, he once more wants to address wealth and how it can easily lead us away from a life of genuine faith. This is a word of warning that earthly wealth and the power it often brings with it will fade, and that the character in which we handle our wealth will be judged. For Christians, this is a reminder to store up heavenly rather than earthly treasures, but also should have us thinking about how we utilize and handle the earthly wealth the Lord gives to us. What does it look like to put that wealth to use for kingdom purposes?
