From Fractured to Whole

Book: James

This Sunday morning we begin a series in the book of James. This is a very practical letter which speaks with wisdom into the Christian life. A major theme of the letter is that the whole of our lives as Christians should match the faith we profess. Our lives shouldn’t be fractured between what we say and what we do, or how we act in certain situations vs. others. There should be a wholeness to our lives that reflects the gospel, as God is taking us from being broken to being whole again in Christ. We can see this theme in the opening verses of the letter, as James writes about the work God is doing in his people, the way we should pray, the way we view earthly possessions, or the way we view trials and temptations. In all these things, we want to reflect the character of our faith, and of the God we believe in.
