Where Are You, Lord?

“Can it get any worse?”

“Are things ever going to get any better or easier for me?”

“Why does my life seem to be upside down all of the time?”

“Where are the good days everyone else seems to be having?”

“Are you there, God, and do you even care?”

We have all gone through periods in our lives when we have asked some of these questions. Some of you might be experiencing this frustration right now as you read this reflection. These feelings and thoughts are real, and they come from the hurts, pains, and let-downs of this broken world. Sometimes life becomes a huge weight that is sitting on our shoulders, and it begins to suck the very life out of us. Hopelessness, depression, loneliness, and unhealthy thoughts creep into our minds as we struggle with the junk of our lives.

But God does care, and he is always there for you and me. No matter how bad things may seem or how difficult it is to be happy, be encouraged, and know that God is our hope and our strength in the hardest parts of our daily walk. God is with you, he is faithful in all of his promises, and he is the strength we need to persevere every day.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.“ Isaiah 41:10

Life is going to throw problems and struggles at us daily, that’s part of living here on earth. However, we don’t have to lose hope even when things are tough. Instead, we should seek God out because our hope is found in the Lord. We don’t hope in other people or in our situation changing because those things will let us down. We hope in our Lord Jesus because we are his children and he loves us so much!

The best part about having hope in Jesus is that he will never let you down. God is always faithful and always keeps his promises. So today, if you’ve given up hope and seem to be swallowed up by the trials of this world, be encouraged. The Lord dearly loves you, and he will come through for you. It might take longer than you want or think it should, and it might not work out just like you have it planned, but God always comes through for those who have hope in him! Are you struggling through something today? Where do you draw your confidence and strength?

“But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Isaiah 40:31
