We have just gone through the season of Advent and Christmas, but as we come into 2025, we are still living in waiting for the return of Jesus, and so it is good for us to think about how we live in this time of waiting for the Lord. Over the next few weeks, we will consider some passages from Revelation 3-5 that direct us toward what a life looking toward God’s coming kingdom is characterized by. We begin with Christ’s message to the churches in Sardis and Philadelphia. These messages call us to be alert to the danger of apathy in our faith and to hold fast to the promises and blessings already given to us in Christ.
