This Sunday morning we continue our Advent and Christmas series thinking about some of the names or titles of Jesus. In John 10, Jesus proclaims that he is the Good Shepherd. The image of the shepherd is a rich one in Scripture, so it carries weight when Jesus takes up this title. As we celebrate Jesus’ coming to us, part of what we celebrate is that he is the one who guides us to abundant life. However, we also celebrate the way he brings this life to us, through his sacrificial love toward us.
