This Sunday evening we continue our series in Daniel by considering the dream and action which takes place in chapter 4. At the heart of this dream and what then happens to Nebuchadnezzar is the theme of glory. As human beings we have a desire for glory, and we often try to fulfill this by glorifying ourselves, which we typically describe as pride. However, this story reminds us of the folly of this approach. Rather, the Lord would remind us that he can and would glorify us beyond what we could even dream, however this comes not from a prideful approach to life, but from a humble one. Our pride before the Lord brings us down, but in humility before him, the Lord would lift us up.
