This Sunday morning is the first Sunday in the season of Lent. As this is a season where God’s people traditionally put intentional focus on their relationship to the Lord, we will reflect on how we are made for this relationship and how we can be cultivating this in our lives. Throughout the series we will use garden imagery to connect with this, and so it is fitting to start at the beginning of the story, where we find ourselves as human beings in a garden with the Lord. Due to sin, our relationship with God is broken, but in Jesus Christ God has worked restoration. As we seek to cultivate our relationship with the Lord, we see that this can only happen in Jesus, but that in Jesus, this relationship is not only possible, but also fruitful.
