This Sunday evening we return to our series in 1 John. These verses in chapter 2 encourage the readers to put their hearts and devotion toward God rather than toward the things of the world. The Lord has given his people what the world could never give, and his gifts will never fade away. The world is always vying for our affection, and its gifts are often right in front of our eyes, that is why it is so important for us to regularly reflect on what God gives to us.
