This Sunday morning we continue reflecting on the different fruit of the Spirit by considering the fruit of gentleness. Unfortunately, in our language and culture gentleness can quickly be associated with weakness, but that is not the case. Gentleness points to the presence of strength and power that is controlled and harnessed toward the benefit of others and the good purposes of the Lord. It is a fruit that is spoken of in Scripture as being useful in many different kinds of situations. Jesus, the all-powerful Son of God, describes himself as gentle, and we see this in the way he harnesses his power to our eternal benefit. Where do see the evidence of this fruit among God’s people, and how might you cultivate this fruit more in your life?
