Last week we considered our statements of belief from the Nicene Creed which primarily state who Jesus is. This week we move to the statements of the creed that point more to what Jesus has done. We believe that Jesus has come down from heaven for us and for our salvation. The way Jesus has done this is remarkable. He has taken on our flesh and willingly suffered and died so that the way of life can be open to us again. All of these things Jesus has done have been witnessed to by his people from the very beginning. They are what God had pointed to throughout the Old Testament, and all of Jesus’ works are all necessary for us to know salvation.
