In ALL Things

  By Pastor E

I received this from a member of our church who had just lost a loved one. It is from a gospel tract from 1944, written by Esther L. Fields. As I read through this poem and reflected on my own life circumstances and situation, I could see myself in it. God doesn’t promise that we will always have it easy or that the way would always be smooth but, he does promise his children that in ALL circumstances, he will be with us, he will be faithful, and always love us. In short, God is completely sovereign and is always by our side no matter what!! All we need to do is TRUST in him and find peace in his guaranteed promise, even when things don’t make sense. In the storm we can experience the calm, in the dark we can find the light, and in moments of chaos, Jesus Christ is there with us, comforting, protecting, and providing a powerful sense of assurance!

Things don’t just happen to us who love God; They’re planned by His own dear hand. Then molded and shaped, and timed by His Clock. Things don’t just happen, they are planned.

We don’t just guess on the issues of life, We Christians just rest in the Lord. We are directed by His sovereign will in the light of HIs Holy Word.

We who love Jesus are walking by faith, not seeing one step that is ahead. Not doubting one moment what our lot might be, but looking to Jesus instead.

We praise our dear Savior for loving us so, for planning each care of our life, then giving us faith to trust Him for all, the blessings as well as the strife.

Things don’t just happen to us who love God, to us who have taken our stand. No matter the lot, the course, or the price, things don’t just happen; they are planned.

We give praise to our God who is faithful in all times and in all situations. We give praise to our Savior Jesus Christ for his redeeming work in this world, working in and through all things. We give praise for the work of the Holy Spirit, giving comfort, peace, and unconditional love to us who love him!

Can you see the Light coming through in the darkest of times, do you experience the Love that has been poured out in the hurt and pain, do you Trust in the Anchor that is secured to the very throne of God in the waves of your storm? Praise God for his faithfulness!!

“And we know that in ALL things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”  Romans 8:28
