This Sunday evening we continue our journey through 2 Corinthians by considering this passage in which Paul compares our earthly bodies and lives to a tent, and the promised heavenly body and life to a solid, permanent dwelling. Our bodies and lives now are fragile and temporary, but the reminder here is that in Christ, this will be replaced by something far better. Not only will we be given new, imperishable bodies, but our relationship with the Lord will be new and better also. This vision gives us hope as we presently deal with struggles in our bodies and lives. God is with us now in his Spirit, and this guarantees the much better eternal reality that is on the way.
