This Sunday evening we continue our series looking at the powerful moments in Jesus’ ministry when he casts out demons. This story is one that is told in several of the gospels with some differing details in each. Besides again seeing Jesus’ authority over these spiritual powers, this story also shows us that Jesus ultimately sits in judgment over these powers and that their powers will be destroyed. As we see the men Jesus heals in this story, we are reminded that Jesus has come to free us from the power of evil and instead to reconnect us with his life-giving power.
